Where to stay in Mahdia
Mahdia is known for its white-sand beaches and clear, turquoise water. Founded in the 10th century by the Fatimids, who made it their capital, its old town stands on a narrow headland, entered through the fortified Skifa el Kahla gate, with a fishing port and cafés facing the sea.
